Support for Managing Anger, Without Judgement

Everyone gets angry. But when it starts showing up too often, too fast, or in ways that hurt the people around you, it's worth working through with support. Anger is often the visible part of something else underneath, stress, past experiences, feeling unheard, or not having the tools to respond differently in the moment.

Anger Management Counselling in High Conflict relationships or when a DVO Is in Place

One Team Counselling & Coaching accepts referrals in these circumstances, following a confidential intake assessment. Sessions are built around accountability and the safety of everyone involved, and we're glad to work alongside solicitors, case workers, or family members helping someone access support.

Access to appropriate counselling can be especially important when a Domestic Violence Order (DVO) is in place. However, many anger management services are unable to accept people in these circumstances. This can leave a significant gap at exactly the point when accountability, guidance and meaningful change matter most.

If you’re navigating a current order, please check with your solicitor or referring body about any specific requirements. You can also contact us to discuss whether individual counselling may be an appropriate next step. This service isn't a substitute for legal advice.

Anger Management Questions

Frequently Asked Questions About Anger Management

It's normal to have questions before considering structured counselling for anger or Family and Domestic Violence Concerns. Here are some of the ones we're asked most often.

Yes. Everything shared in counselling remains private and confidential, within legal and ethical guidelines. Your safety and trust are at the heart of every session, whether in person or online.

In some cases, yes, but this depends entirely on the specific order and what’s been requested by the referring body. We recommend checking directly with your solicitor or case worker before booking, and we’re happy to provide confirmation of attendance if that’s needed for your records.

Yes. We understand many services are unable to take on new clients who currently have a DVO in place, which can leave people without support at a critical time. One Team accepts these referrals following a confidential intake assessment, and sessions are structured around accountability and the safety of everyone involved. We’re glad to work alongside solicitors, case workers, or family members helping someone access support.

This isn’t a substitute for legal advice, any specific conditions of your order should be discussed with your solicitor or the referring body.

Yes. You’re welcome to register your interest in future group sessions. However, we often recommend beginning with individual counselling because it provides greater privacy and allows each session to focus entirely on your experiences, triggers, relationships and goals.

Group programs can be valuable for learning from others and feeling less alone. Individual sessions may feel more comfortable when discussing sensitive situations and allow the support and strategies to be tailored specifically to you.

No. Anger and difficulty regulating emotions can affect anyone, and our counselling services are open to people of all genders.

One Team does have a particular focus on men’s mental health. We understand that men may express stress, grief, anxiety or emotional distress through anger, frustration, withdrawal or conflict. Counselling provides a practical, non judgemental space to understand what’s happening underneath the anger and develop healthier ways to respond.

Sessions are private, one-on-one, and focused on understanding your specific triggers and patterns. Together we build practical tools for recognising warning signs early and responding differently in the moment, whether that’s at home, at work, or in relationships.
